Who We Are
Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapists in Michigan

Compassion    *     Connection      *     Balance

At Heartstone Guidance Center, neurodiversity-affirming care is not simply a marketing term, it is central to who we are, how we understand human minds, and how we support our clients. Our team includes autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD therapists, clinicians deeply committed to affirming and understanding neurodivergent experiences across the lifespan.

Many of our therapists have lived experience with autism, ADHD, sensory differences, executive functioning challenges, masking, autistic burnout, anxiety, trauma, and navigating systems that were not designed with neurodivergent people in mind. This perspective informs the compassionate, validating, and affirming care we strive to provide every day.

We specialize in supporting autistic and ADHD adult clients, neurodivergent children and teens, LGBTQIA+ individuals, trauma survivors, people experiencing burnout, and clients seeking therapy that moves beyond compliance-based or deficit-focused models. Rather than trying to force clients to appear neurotypical, we focus on nervous system regulation, authenticity, self-understanding, accommodations, sensory needs, communication differences, and sustainable well-being.

Our clinicians understand that support needs can vary greatly from person to person and can fluctuate over time. We recognize the impact that chronic masking, misunderstanding, invalidation, sensory overwhelm, and systemic barriers can have on mental health, relationships, employment, education, and identity development.

Heartstone Guidance Center offers both online therapy throughout Michigan and in-person therapy services in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Our therapists provide support for autism, ADHD, AuDHD, trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, PDA profiles, emotional regulation difficulties, executive functioning challenges, relationship concerns, identity exploration, and autistic burnout recovery.

We believe neurodivergent people deserve therapy spaces where they do not need to hide who they are in order to be accepted.

Our Story

We are a group of neurodivergent therapists who bring decades of experience and unique life journeys to therapy. We opened in 2017 with the desire to provide neurodiversity affirming therapy to other neurodivergent people. This business is autistic owned and was started to create a safe space for autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, PDA, OCD, PTSD and other neurodivergent clients to come together to find balance, compassion, and connection. We are proudly and unwaveringly neurodiversity affirming,  LGBTQIA+ affirming, BIPOC affirming and anti-capitalist.
